There's an amazing book called "MANHUNT The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer" by James L Swanson. It is put together with nothing but news articles, letters, journals, documents and photographs of the time. It follows the planning of Lincoln's assassination and the pursuit and capture of John Wilkes Booth. It pulls you along as if you're living it and it will stick with you long after you finish it.

Hi,
Wonderful episode, love the podcast. I was just curious about two of the facts in the podcast. You said, if I remember correctly, that Edwin stopped performing after Lincoln's death except for one final performance. I was reading online and other sources say he stopped for a few months, but went back to acting.
You also said John Wilkes decided that morning to kill LIncoln, but weren't there co-conspirators who also attempted to kill Seward and Johnson? Seward ends up stabbed. Was the whole plot really hatched in that one day?
thanks!
