Nate DiMeo was the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Artist in Residence for 2016/2017. He produced 8 episodes inspired by the collection and by the museum itself. This is the eigth episode of that residency.

This residency is made possible by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Chester Dale Fund.

    Captured so beautifully in the words of Mr. Dimeo is the story behind these sculptures that, at first glance, would not have bestowed the history of the artist. He digs into the times when Ms. Lewis, part Native American, was living in the US, and then successfully traveled to live and practice her art in Italy. The magic is conveyed in Nate’s gentle, knowledgeable approach. What a treasure he is to the museum and his many fans. Thank you.
