Some news.

Proud to report that the memory palace will be, albeit briefly, in the mix of Slate’s fine podcasts. Three episodes will roll out on three mondays here in March. Do check out their other podcasts. I am a particular fan of their sports talk show, Hang* Up and Listen. If you are into that kind of thing.

Now, some of you have been asking what the hold up has been with the new episodes.

A: Thanks for asking.
B: Sorry about that.
C: I’ve been spending most of my time writing much of this book (oddly enough). It is due to come out in October. It is funny. And weirdly memory palace-y in several parts.
D. More episodes soon.

*An earlier version of this post referred to the show as “Shut up and Listen.” It was a mistake. But a much better name.

It’s actually called Hang Up and Listen, but I like your version better.

Hey I really enjoy your mini historical audio pieces. I really hope you keep doing them. Even though they look at a small portion of the past, each one seems to shed light on shit that is happening today.

Well, Slate’s nefarious plot has succeeded!! I’ve become addicted to The Memory Palace. I’ve just signed up for the podcast of your wonderful show.

Wow. I am so glad that you came to Slate. I am an addict of their podcasts, but do need a break from the discussions and have to take a mental breather and turn to short stories or something that takes me away from what is going on in the world. You are just what I have been craving.
I do so love the vignettes and stories that pull me in with emotion and curiosity. The obscure histories and personalities and situations surrounding their lives are fascinating. Your voice and subtle background are soothing and make the interesting stories more compelling. Great job and thank you! I have found another addiction.
